Abstract

Description

In this paper the iconographic reading of the column located in the Aranburu palace of Tolosa is given, presenting it as an evidence of the talking art of the XVIth century. Three works of Hercules are identified in the column and they are understood in the sacred/profane duplicity, together with the victorious Christ that is showed in the handkerchief of Veronica. As hypothesis, the column is connected with Sebastian Lartaun, who is from Oiartzun, relating his life to the didactic message of the column. Inside the paper, A Greek version of the legend of Hercules (Apolodoro, Library) translated into Basque is also given.
Tolosako Aranburu Jauregian den zutabearen irakurketa ikonografikoa eskaintzen da artikulu honetan, XVI. mendeko arte mintzodunaren lekukota- sun gisa aurkeztuaz. Herkulesen hiru lan identifikatzen dira harroinean eta sakratu/profanoaren bikoiztasunean ulertzen dira, Veronikaren zapiak ager- tzen duen Kristo garailearekin batera. Zutabea Sebastian Lartaun oiartzun- darrarekin erlazionatzen da hipotesi gisa, honen bizitza eta zutabearen mezu didaktikoa lotuaz. Artikuluaren barruan Herkulesen elezaharrararen greziar bertsio bat (Apolodoro, Biblioteka) ere eskaintzen da euskarara itzulita.
