Abstract

Depresioa gaixotasun mental garrantzitsuenetakoa da egungo gizartean. Haren oinarri neurobiologikoak erabat argi ez dauden arren, bai faktore biologikoek, bai ingurumenekoek ere depresioa garatzeko arriskua areagotzen dutela jakina da. Azken hauen artean aipatzekoa da estresa, ikerketa anitzek deskribatu baitute estresaren eta depresioaren arteko erlazioa. Gaixotasun psikiatrikoen ikerketarako funtsezkoak dira animalia-ereduak. Kasu honetan, estres kronikoa eragitean oinarritzen den animalia-eredu baten garapena burutu da. Chronic Unpredictable Mild Stress (CUMS) baliotasun handiko depresioaren eredua da, karraskarietan erabiltzen dena. Ikerketa honetan, portaera-frogen bidez nahiz markatzaile biologikoak neurtuz, animalia-ereduaren ebaluazioa burutu dugu.
Depression is one of the most relevant mental diseases in current society. Its neurobiological bases have yet not been elucidated, but it is well known that biological and environmental factors play an important role in the development of the condition. Stress has been established as one of the main contributors, as research studies have correlated it with the disease. Animal models are essential for the research of psychiatric disorders. In this case, an animal model based on the exposure to chronic stress has been developed. Chronic Unpredictable Mild Stress (CUMS) is a widely used rodent model of depression, which has high validity. In the current study, the model has been produced and evaluated through behavioural tests and biological marker measurements.
