Aitatasunerako trantzisioa igarotze erritu bezala: Lehen pertsonan egindako ikerketa kasu bat

Abstract

Artikulu honek aita bilakatzean gertatzen diren aldaketa sakonak aztertzea du helburu, aitatasuna estatus aldaketa nabarienetakoa izanda pertsona heldu baten bizitzan. Baina nola heltzen da estatus horretara? Zeintzuk dira prozesuan ematen diren faseak? Ikerketa hau aita bilakatu berri den gizon bati grabatutako ikus-entzunezko materialean dago oinarritua. Umea jaio eta hilabete bat lehenagotik eta jaio ostean lau hilabetez jarraian dago grabatuta, berak jasandako aldaketa fisiko –eta psikologikoak—azaleratuz. Aitatasunaren analisi bat da, non aita bihurtzea bera igarotze erritu batekin alderatzen den, estatus aldaketa hori zein punturaino gorpuzturatutako ezagutzaren mendekoa den aztertuz. Aldaketa hori gertatzearren, aitek beti ez daukaten denbora eta jaioberriarekiko inplikazioa ezinbestekoak direla erakusten digun bitartean.This article explores the complex transformations involved in first time fatherhood, when adult men undergo one of the most important status changes in their lives. How is this status reached? What are the stages of this transition? This study is primarily based on audiovisual material of a newborn father, collected from one month before the birth of his first child through four months after. This footage allows me to examine the physical –and psychological—evolution of this man. This is an analysis of fathering and masculinity that explores the degree to which this status change is dependent on embodied knowledge, and how this requires an amount of time and practice that fathers do not always experience. This process will be analyzed in this article as a “modern” rite of passage.
