Abstract

Gizartean duen prebalentzia-tasa altua dela eta, gehiegizko alkohol-kontsumoa, batez ere nerabezaroan, osasun arazo larria bilakatzen ari da. Alkohol kontsumoaren erregulazioan, endokannabinoide sistemak funtsezko eginkizun bat betetzen du. Izan ere, etanolaren gehiegizko kontsumoak CB1 hartzailearen mendeko iraupen luzeko plastikotasunaren galera eragiten du. Ingurune aberastuak (IAk) hainbat aldaketa mesedegarri eragiten ditu garunaren garapen prozesuan; garun lesio ezberdinen berreskurapenean duen parte-hartzea egiaztatuz. Gure xedea, nerabezaroan alkohol-kontsumoaren ondorioz sorturiko iraupen luzeko plastikotasun asalduren aurrean IAk duen potentzial-tasun terapeutikoa aztertzea da; baita onura posible horien azpian dauden mekanismo zelularrak ere.
Abusive alcohol consumption, especially during the adolescent stage, has become one of the main problems that most concern our society. There is considerable evidence for the involvement of the endocannabinoid system in alcohol. In fact, alcohol abuse promotes long-term CB1 mediated loss of plasticity. Enriched environment (EE) significantly facilitates recovery from brain injury through the interaction with functional changes occurring along brain development. Our aim is to investigate the therapeutic potential long-term effect of the EE on the plasticity impairment induced by chronic ethanol intake during adolescence; including the cellular mechanisms that underlie the possible beneficial effects.
