TeoriaMeta-Enpirikoen Ebaluazioa (MEA, ingelesezko siglengatik) zailtasun honetan zentratzen da teoria garaikideenbideragarritasuna aztertzeko, fisikariek garatutako metodo berriak modu deskriptibo batean azaleratuz. IkerGaz-teko aurtengo kongresuan fisikoki garrantzitsua den kasu zehatz batean – Inflazio Kosmikoan – zentratuko naiz,teoria hau MEAra nola egokitzen den ikertzeko. Nire tesi nagusia ondokoa da: MEAk ondo islatzen du fisikariteoriko gehienek Inflazio Kosmikoan duten konfiantza, baina ez dute honen bideragarritasuna bermatzen. Ideiahau defendatzeko 2013an, Planck satelitearen emaitzak argitaratzean, sortu zen eztabaidan oinarrituko naiz.Meta-Empirical theory Assessment (MEA) argues that, due to the progressive distancing of theory from experi-ment, the way of evaluating contemporary physical theories has changed: as empirical confirmation became moredifficult, physicists developed new methods to recognize which theories are worth pursuing, making it possibleto assess theories with little or no empirical basis. At this year’s IkerGazte congress, I shall focus on a concretephysically relevant case study – Cosmic Inflation – and investigate how that theory adjusts to MEA. My centralthesis is that Dawid’s three arguments represent well the reasons why most theoretical physicists keep trustingCosmic Inflation but they do not guarantee its viability.
