Abestiak eta sinbolismoa: hegan egitearen garrantzia euskal musika popularrean

Abstract

Hegan egitearen eta hegaztien inguruko sinbolismoa oso barneratuta dago euskal kulturan. Horren adibide nagusia “Txoria txori” abestia da, baina Euskal Herriko musika popularrean badira beste abesti asko letretan hegoak edo txoriak baliatzen dituztenak mezua helarazteko. Gaztea irratiko zerrendak oinarri hartuta, artikulu honek denboran salto egiten du 2015-2020raino, garai horretan izenburuan sinbolo hauek dituzten abestiak aztertzeko (N=15). Euskal Kantagintza Berritik datorren tradizioak egungo musika popularrean eragina izaten jarraitzen duela dirudi, eta, horrezkero, sinbologia hau bertako musikan errotuta dagoela. Laginaren analisiak adierazten du sinboloen egungo erabilerak balio indibidualei erantzuten diela, kolektiboei baino.

The symbolism around flying is deeply rooted in the Basque culture. The main example of this is the song “Txoria txori”, but there are many other popular songs in the Basque Country that use words related to the wings or the birds in the lyrics to communicate. Based on the accessed lists of the radio Gaztea, this article focuses on the importance of those symbols in the current Basque popular music. It analyzes the songs whose titles include bird-related terms that have sounded on the radio from 2015 to 2020 (N=15). This shows that a tradition that comes from the New Basque Song in the 60s is still part of the Basque imaginary. The analysis of the sample suggests that the use musicians make currently about those symbols responds more to an individual perspective rather than to a collective one.
