Use of code-switching in young Basque-Spanish bilinguals

| dc.description | Along with the Basque youth language, the phenomenon of code-switching (CS) has also been observed in recent years. The aim of this study is to analyze the use of CS in bilingual Basque-Spanish youth and to identify some factors that may influence it: the sociolinguistic environment (according to the place of birth), the first language of the speakers (L1) and the Basque/Spanish competition. To do this, and in order to deepen the use and attitudes of CS, I have taken advantage of the answers received from the online questionnaire that I designed in 2022: 244 bilingual Basque-Spanish youth from 18 to 30 years old. The results show that the use of CS is widespread among Basque youth and that L1, the sociolinguistic environment and the Basque/Spanish competition influence it. | en-US |
| dc.description | Euskal gazteen hizkerarekin batera, azken urteetan kode-alternantzia (KA) fenomenoak ere arreta jaso du. Azterlan honen xedea da euskara-gaztelania gazte elebidunen KAren erabilera aztertzea eta horretan eragin dezaketen zenbait faktore identifikatzea: jaiolekuaren araberako testuinguru soziolinguistikoa, hiztunen lehen/etxeko hizkuntza (H1) eta euskara-gaztelania gaitasuna. Horretarako, KAren erabileran eta jarreretan sakondu nahian 2022an diseinatu nuen online galdetegitik jasotako erantzunak baliatu ditut, hain zuzen ere 18-30 urte bitarteko 244 euskara-gaztelania gazte elebidunenak. Emaitzek erakutsi dute KAren erabilera oso zabalduta dagoela euskal gazteen artean eta horretan gazteen H1ak, testuinguru soziolinguistikoak eta euskara-gaztelania gaitasunak eragiten dutela. | eu-ES |
