Abstract

Literatura gehienaren arabera, kooperatibaren tamaina bere sistema demokratikoari bereziki eragiten dion degenerazio-iturria da. Aldi berean, tamainak askotan ukaezina den biziraupen-aseguru bat ematen die kooperatiba askori. Mondragon Korporazioko kooperatiba baten kasu-azterketan oinarrituta, kooperatiba handien gobernantza-sistema demokratikoa aztertu eta haren ahultasunak identifikatu dira. Diagnostiko honetatik abiatuta, tamainak sortutako endekapen demokratikoari irtenbidea emateko oinarriak planteatzen dira.

The size of the cooperative is, according to most of the literature, a source of degeneration that especially affects its democratic system. At the same time, size provides many co-operatives with an often undeniable survival insurance. On the basis of a case study of a cooperative belonging to the Mondragon Corporation, the democratic system of governance of large cooperatives has been analysed and its weaknesses identified. From this diagnosis, the basis for a solution to the democratic tendency of degeneration generated by size is proposed.
