"A(ha)l", mugaz gaindiko partikula

Abstract

Artikulu honetan erdialdeko al eta Lapurdi itsas hegiko ahal partikulen azterketaren lehenengo emaitzak dakartzagu. Lehenik, bi partikulen propietateei begiratu diegu, erabilera, funtzioa eta testuinguru sintaktikoa zehaztuz. Ondotik, gramatikalizazioaren ikuspegitik, ahal eta al partikulak erlazionatzeko argudioak azaldu ditugu, Lapurdi itsas hegiko datuen azterketak duen interesa azpimarratuz. Azkenik, hemen aurkezten dugun hipotesia berretsi ahal izateko, etorkizunean datu berrien jasotzeko inkesta-motaren diseinua proposatu dugu.

In this article we present the first results of our research about the particles al used in the Basque central dialect and ahal present also in questions on the Lapurdian coast. First, we look at the properties of the two particles and determine their use, function and syntactic context. Furthermore, we provide arguments for the relation of both particles considering a grammaticalization path such as ahal > al; indeed, the data from the Lapurdian coast would be essential for the understanding of the whole process. Finally, in order to confirm the hypothesis presented here, we design a type of questionnaire to gather new data in the future.
