Abstract

Nahiz eta tetrafluoroetileno sulfonatatuan oinarritutako ionomeroen erabilera mintz protoi-trukatzaileko erregai-piletan (PEMFC) handia izan, beren potentziala mugatzen duten eragozpen batzuk daude oraindik. Ionomero hauek sortzeko ingurumenean inpaktu negatiboa duten disolbatzaile organikoak erabiltzen dira. Horrez gain, tenperatura altuetan hezetasuna galtzen dutenez, mintzek protoi-eroankortasunean beherakada azkarra jasaten dute. Lan honetan, muga horiek gainditzen saiatu gara, Nafion® tetrafluoroetileno ionomero sulfonatuaren forma saretua sortuz.
Despite the wide utilization of the sulfonated tetrafluoroethylene based ionomers in proton exchange membranes for fuel cells (PEMFCs) they still present certain drawbacks. Non-environmentally friendly solvents are used to create the ionomers and the membranes present a rapid decline of the proton conductivity and a loss of performance at high temperatures, because at such conditions they lose the adsorbed humidity. In this work, we have tried to overcome these limitations by creating a cross-linked form of Nafion® sulfonated tetrafluoroethylene ionomer.
