Abstract
Depresioak lotura estua du minbiziarekin eta estres sozialarekin, baina harreman hori eragiten duten mekanismoen inguruko informazioa ez dago erabat osatuta. Hori dela eta, tumoreek eta estresak garunaren aktibitatean duten eragina aztertzea du helburu ikerketa honek. Horretarako, OF1 sagu arrei B16F10 melanoma zelulak inokulatu eta azpitalde bati estres soziala eragin zaio. Tumoreak garuneko serotonina maila murriztu eta 3-HK neurotoxikoaren maila handitu du. Azken efektu hori estresari aurre egiteko estrategi pasiboak dituzten saguetan ere azaldu da. Jokaerari dagokionez, tumoreak sakarosarekiko preferentzia txikitu eta eremu irekiko frogan gelditasuna handitu ditu. Ondorioz, tumoreak bide toxikoa aktibatu eta jokaera depresiboak areagotu dituela adierazten dute datuek.
Depression is associated with both, cancer disease and social stress, but mechanisms underlying this relation are still inconclusive. Therefore, this study analyses the effects of tumor and stress on brain activity. OF1 male mice were inoculated with B16F10 melanoma tumor cells and a subgroup was exposed to social stress. Results indicate that tumor reduces brain serotonin level and rises neurotoxic 3-HK level. This effect is also seen in mice using passive coping strategy. Furthermore, tumor decreases the preference of sucrose and increases immobility in the open field test. This data indicate that the neurotoxic pathway of the kynurenine may be activated by tumor which could contribute to the appearance of depressive-like behaviour.
