Abstract
Kutsadura-historia desberdina izan duten eta oraindik ere duten Barbadun eta Butroe estuarioetako ur-egoera aztertzeko, bost laginketa-guneko adin ezberdineko muskuiluak erabili ziren. Honela, gonaden analisi histologikoek agerian jarri zuten sasoiarekin lotuta espero ziren heldutasun patroiak, soilik laginketa garaiaren araberako ezberdintasunak erakutsiz. Digestio-guruinaren analisiak, Barbadun estuarioko laginketa-gune batean erakutsi zuen atrofia maila altuena. Autometalografia bidezko zilarrezko hauspeakin beltzen kuantifikazioak agerian utzi zuen metalen presentzia digestio-lisosometan, gune guztietako muskuiluetan, eta bereziki, Barbadun estuarioko Punta Lucero gunean. Kasu honetan, Butroeko muskuilu handienak digestio-guruinean metalak metatzeko joera handiagoa erakutsi zuten. Bestalde, analisi kimikoek Al, Fe eta Zn kontzentrazio altuak erakusten zituzten muskuiluen ehun bigunetan eta Butroeko muskuiluek metal karga handiena izan zuten. Metal/maskor pisuek ez zuten informazio gehigarririk eman. Bestetik muskuiluen tamainak eragin diferentziala izan zuen ehun bigunetan metalak metatzeko gaitasunean, muskuilu txikiak izanik karga metaliko handiagoa zutenak. Maskorren eta digestio-guruinaren oinarrizko konposizioaren analisiak XRFren bidez elementuen banaketa eredu ezberdinak azaldu zituzten, ingurumenaren gaineko aldaketa posibleak ulertzen lagun zezaketenak. Orokorrean, Butroe estuarioan maiatzean ikusitako metal kontzentrazio altuek, eta Barbaduneko laginketa-puntu batzuetan behatutako alterazio patologikoak iradokitzen dute nolabait estuario hauek puntualki bada ere, estres iturrien presentzia nabarmena jasaten dutela.
In order to assess the possible effects of pollutants in two estuaries with different pollution history such as Barbadun and Butroe, mussels from five monitoring stations were collected as sentinel organisms. Gonad histological analyses revealed the expected seasonally related sexual pattern which was only affected by sampling season. Digestive gland analyses revealed slightly higher levels of atrophy in Barbadun. Black silver deposit quantification revealed the presence of metals in digestive lysosomes of mussels from all stations, especially in mussels from Barbadun. In this case, larger mussels from Butroe tended to accumulate more metals in digestive gland. On the other hand, chemical analyses revealed substantially high concentrations of Al, Fe and Zn in mussel soft tissues. Mussels from Butroe estuary had the highest metal burden. Metal/shell weight indices did not show additional information. Besides, mussel size has a differential effect on metal accumulation in soft tissues being small mussels the ones with a higher metal burden. Shell elemental composition analysis and digestive gland mapping by XRF revealed several patterns of elemental distribution which could help to understand possible changes on environment. Overall, the high metal concentration measured in mussels from Butroe in May and some pathological alterations detected in mussels from Barbadun estuary indicated that occasionally these estuaries suffer from some type of stress sources.
