Abstract
Ikerketa honetan, adin erlatiboaren eragina (Relative Age Effect: RAE) aztertu da saskibaloiko jokalari gazteen errendimenduan. Horretarako, Bizkaiko eta Europako saskibaloi txapelketetako jokalarien jaiotze data, altuera eta errendimenduarekin lotutako parametroak jaso dira. Aztertu diren txapelketa guztietan jokalari gehienak urte hasieran jaiotakoak ziren. Desoreka hau nabariagoa da 12, 14, 16 eta 18 urte azpiko txapelketetan 20 urte azpiko txapelketetan baino. Maila bakoitzeko jokalari zaharrenek (urte hasieran jaiotakoek) Europako txapelketako partidetan estatistika hobeak lortu zituzten eta Bizkaian 14 eta 16 urte azpiko taldeetan zaharrenek saskibaloian jokatzeko parametro antropometriko eta fisiologiko hobeak zituzten. Beraz, entrenatzaileek eta hautatzaileek ikerketa honetan lortutako emaitzak kontuan hartu beharko lituzkete, jokalari gazteen aukeraketan hartuko dituzten erabakien eragina ekiditeko.
This study sought to determine the effect of the relative age (RAE) on the performance of young elite basketball players. The distribution of the birth dates, height and performance of the male and female participants of Biscay and European Basketball Championships were analysed. There was an overrepresentation of players born in the beginning of the year in all championships. RAE was more evident in U12, U14, U16 and U18 than in U20 tournaments. In all European Championships, the oldest participants (those born at the beginning of the year) displayed better performance index ratio and in local tournaments the oldest players had more favourable anthropometrical and physiological parameters to play basketball. Thus, basketball coaches and selectors should keep these results in mind in order to avoid biasing their selection decisions at early ages.
