Abstract
Comprehensive Aphasia Test (CAT Swinburn, Porter eta Howard, 2005) afasia aztertzeko ingelesez diseinatutako tresna bat da, eta afasiadunengan hizkuntza aztertzea eta arazo kognitiboak antzematea du xede. CAT ebaluazio-tresna Europako hamahiru hizkuntzatara egokitzen ari da, euskara tartean. Aurkezpen honetan tresna horren berri emango dugu; bereziki euskarara egokitzerakoan izan ditugun erronka nagusiak eta irtenbideak aurkeztuko ditugu. Estandarizatua izateko bidean dagoen tresna honek aukera emango du hasiberria den euskal afasiaren ikerketa bultzatzeko eta afasiko euskaldun elebidunak euren lehen edo bigarren hizkuntzan aztertzeko.
The Comprehensive Aphasia Test (CAT Swinburn, Porter and Howard, 2005) is a test that was originally designed in English in order to assess cognitive and linguistic impairment in people with aphasia. Currently, this assessment tool is being adapted for thirteen languages of Europe, including Basque. In this talk we will present this tool and the main issues we faced when adapting it for Basque, together with the decisions we took in order to meet those issues. The standardization of this tool, currently in progress, will promote aphasiological research in Basque, which has only recently begun to emerge, in addition to giving Basque speakers with aphasia the opportunity to be assessed in their first or second language.
