Abstract

Industria eta teknologiaren garapenak ezaugarri bereziak dituzten material berrien sorrera ekarri du; horien artean, grafenoak eta bere eratorriek interes handia piztu dute. Esponentzialki hazten ari den ekoizpenaren ondorioz, grafenoa eta bere eratorriak itsasora iristen ari dira eta, itsas organismoetan eragin ditzaketen kalteen inguruko kezka zabaldu da. Gainera, grafenoak eta eratorriek, azalera-bolumen erlazio handia eta hidrofobikoak izateagatik arrisku gehigarri bat dute: kutsatzaile organiko iraunkorren garraiatzaileak izan daitezke. Gure ikerketaren xedea, grafeno oxidoak, bakarrik zein kutsatzaile organiko iraunkorrak adsorbatuta dituela, muskuiluetan eragindako kalteak aztertzea izan da.
The industrial and technological development has resulted in the generation of new materials with special characteristics. Among such materials, graphene and its derivatives have attracted great interest. Due to the exponential increase in production of graphene and its derivatives, they are reaching the marine environment and so there is a widespread concern about the damage they could cause to marine organisms. In addition, graphene and its derivatives pose an additional risk due to their high surface to volume ratio and hydrophobicity: they can act as carriers of persistent organic pollutants. The aim of our research has been to study the damage caused to mussels by the exposure to graphene oxides, alone or with adsorbed persistent organic pollutants.
