Abstract
Bideo-jokoen salmentak urtero hazten dira eta irabazien zati handi bat lokalizazioari esker lortzen da (hots, itzulpenari gehi behar beste aldaketa tekniko, juridiko eta estetikoei esker). Erakutsiko dugu lokalizazioan hartzen diren erabakiek (kasurako, itzultzaile profesionala ala boluntarioa aukeratzea) ondorioak dauzkatela produktuan eta jokalarien iritzian. Hori frogatzeko, lotuko ditugu garatzaileen artean egindako inkesta bat, hamar bideo-jokoz osatutako corpus baten analisia eta jokalarien artean egindako bigarren inkesta bat. Horrela, lokalizazioaren bidea jarraituko dugu, garatzaileen eskuetatik hasi eta azken erabiltzaileetara heldu arte.
Video game sales grow every year and localisation (i.e., the translation and as many technical, legal, and artistic changes as needed) lies behind a great part of the revenue. We will show how decisions made during the localisation process (e.g., choosing between a professional translator and a volunteer) have an impact on the product and the players’ opinion. In order to prove this, we will link a survey of video game developers to a corpus-based analysis of ten video games and a second survey of video game players. In this way, we will follow the localisation through the jounery it makes from the hands of the developers to the end users.
